We know applying to become a Climate Reality Leader is a big commitment, and it’s important that it’s the right decision for you. That’s why we’ve compiled a few of the most common questions we’re asked about the trainings.
What will I learn? Every Climate Reality Leadership Corps training explores what climate change means for our planet as a whole and for people living next door. In Houston, you’ll learn how the climate crisis is affecting the Lone Star State and what Texans are doing to stop it. You’ll learn the foundations of climate science and solutions, and how these changes are transforming life for millions of people around the world. Most of all, you’ll learn how to talk to people everywhere about the urgency of climate change and how to inspire them to take action back home.
Who attends Climate Reality Leadership Corps trainings? Everyone! Whether you're a seasoned community leader, a concerned parent, a business executive, or a nine-year-old student, you can help create a healthy future for the planet. Climate Reality Leaders come from all walks of life, but all come with the same deep desire to make a difference and help solve the climate crisis.
Who will speak at the training? You’ll hear from former US Vice President Al Gore as he teaches attendees how to speak about the climate crisis. You’ll also hear from Climate Reality Project President and CEO Ken Berlin, notable climate scientists, and experts in grassroots organizing and twenty-first century media outreach.
How can I make a difference once I’m a trained Climate Leader? As a trained Leader, you’ll emerge as an energized and skilled communicator with the knowledge, tools, and passion to educate and empower diverse audiences and communities to help solve the climate crisis. Together, we have an incredible opportunity to share the reality of climate change and how we can solve it with the tools and technology we have today. With your help as a Climate Reality Leader, we can do this – person by person, family by family, and city by city.
