| Dear ________ - "It's a wonderful development, a blessed development, the election of Donald Trump," That's Robert Murray, the coal magnate and King of Coal. As you read this, he's pushing Trump to make good on his promise to resurrect the coal industry, saying "Trump has a mandate... and he's got to do it in a short time." We're racing against King Coal to build our emergency fund so we can fight to keep dirty coal in the ground. Thousands of people have already made their gift -- will you join them? YES! I want to fight back against Trump by making an emergency membership gift to the Sierra Club. No other organization has done more to move us beyond coal. Since 2010, we've helped retire 243 dirty coal power plants in communities across the country, in both red states and blue states. Even when Bush was president, we prevented 184 proposed plants from being built. That unprecedented progress happened thanks to significant investment in local staff and volunteers who work hand in hand with local businesses, power companies, churches and organizations to win the case against coal. That unprecedented progress has helped keep more toxic mercury in the ground and out of the food we feed our kids. That progress now is at risk. President-elect Trump promised to reverse every regulation keeping dirty coal in the ground. With the House and Senate completely aligned with Big Polluters, we're facing the gravest threat in a generation to our climate, our wildlife and wild places.
